My drawing and lineart sample:
tinyurl. com/underboobs

I'll post a sample of my coloring soon.

I used Photoshop for this, but I think I'll be linearting with Mangastudio since I can do it quicker and neater with that.

I was thinking since most of the artists don't have a tablet, how about maybe we can do the art traditionally and then we convert it to digital? Like sketch, lineart, and color traditionally and then someone with a drawing program tweaks and edits it digitally?

Some traditional tools like watercoloring or color pencils give a really nice effect so I was thinking that might cool...?

I take back what I said about drawing myself as a sample....I'll save that for later lol

@Melonramune now about your drawing sample...I can't help but comment on it...
I like how you drew GUMI it looks really nice Very Happy now....the problems I have with is the waist...when I saw it I was like holy T@&$(*# oAo thats a freaking small waist lol other than that I have no problems...maybe except the hand on the right :O it looks broken....

Well I don't mind your whole idea of drawing traditionally and such but the problem with that is converting trad. to digital isn't always the best since when you draw in pencil and scan it to the cpu you can see the pencil lines very obviously since pencils aren't smooth like digital lines
well generally, anything you scan to the cpu doesn't look smooth...

Well let me explain to you my process of drawing...
usually if I draw digitally I don't totally draw digitally, what I do is draw something on paper then I scan it into the cpu then on a drawing program (I use SAI) trace everything and fix any errors then color everything digitally. I actually suck a lot at drawing purely digital lol

so maybe people could draw traditionally but the artists could lineart it digitally?...

@ Sen: I hate anatomy! >Very Happy /shot But thank you! ><;
Hmm.. That's a good idea. I usually either lineart traditionally [with ink and sometimes with pencil], scan it to the computer, clean it, and then use that. [though the Gumi picture was linearted digitally]. But yeah even if I use ink it doesn't look as smooth as the digital o___o;

But sure I don't mind linearting digitally Very Happy So should we also color it digitally? And what kinda theme should the overall video seem like? Should we base it off the original video scheme or our own? Just wondering since I think I might want to change the color of the lineart depending on the color scheme....

(off topic orz)
OMG YOU GUYS TALK SO MUCH WHILE I'M AWAY AT SCHOOL AND DOING A PROJECT

I think we should follow the original theme for our chorus too, it wouldn't make sense if we changed it...

@Melonramune what do you mean "change the color of the lineart depending on the color scheme...."?
lol usually I change the color of the lineart when I draw anyway

@ Sen: Like if we're going for a softer, more neutral scheme for the video [like with more natural colors] something like brown or sepia would fit more for the lineart... Just something like that. It helps the art blend with the rest of the video better. Like Torinoko city's scheme was dark blue and black, so the pv artist made the lineart dark blue and black.

LOL THIS IS TOTALLY POINTING AT ME x'DDDD
Since I don't have tablet/drawing pen and such.. I usually draw using pencils, then trace it again with drawing pen (still in paper x'D and only if I feel like it lol) and erase all pencil traces so it looks clean. And. I. Capture it with camera lololol (or scan. If I'm not lazy.)

Hmm. for our chorus' PV, I guess we're going for a clean and smooth anime-coloring-style avatars, right.

Yupp, that means it will be better to have all traditional linearts to be redrawn digitally. But I can't do that so I'll be leaving it with you guys~ /well i can do it but with mouse. x'D which practically takes forever.

Yup, we'll be coloring it digitally.
I propose an original theme: natural-looking, down-to-earth, outdoor-with-hint-of-sunlight theme 8D backgrounds can be real outdoor photos.
color scheme: light brown, brownish green, greenish yellow.. x'D (but it's not restricted for outfits.)

well that's my idea, lolol

Okay so juuust making sure: Is everyone using programs that can accept PS files? Because I want to send my linearts in a PS format [since that's easier for the coloring, etc.] but I don't know if everyone can open it...

Ah yes I can! SAI can open PS files and I do have PS if needed (I suck at using it though)

@Melonramune ah I think we don't have to worry too much about our styles matching since yours doesn't look too different from mine
coloring might be another matter...

Phew! XD Ehh coloring... o___o; I don't know if I can do that normally.. I don't color very well so I kinda paste textures and patterns in place of color orz I'll try to match your coloring style though, since I don't really have a coloring style of my own ^^;

I'll periodically update this one, I guess. It's kind of incomplete but I like it so whatever.

ohhhh its quite lovely~♥ I really like it
I don't think it looks incomplete but yes adding more the picture might make it look even awesomer

overall the only thing "bad" thing about it is body proportion, from chest down its kinda skinny but its not totally obvious
